Custom patch bar pricing, without the runaround.
Patch bars are quoted per event because the patch run, the blanks, and the hours all move the number. But the anchors below are real, and the math is simple once you have a guest count.
The anchors
Numbers you can plan around.
A typical local booking covers the staffed station — crew, presses, the mix-and-match wall, setup, live hours, and teardown — starting around $5,000. On top of that sit two variable lines: the custom patch run (style, size, and quantity drive it; chenille and PVC cost more per piece than printed twill) and the blanks (a canvas tote and a denim jacket are very different line items).
Las Vegas and other destinations outside the OC/LA/SD zone add the $900 travel fee, and nationwide programs are quoted with freight so your patches and presses arrive before you do.
What moves the quote
Five inputs decide your number.
Guest count
Drives patch quantity, blank quantity, and how many presses we staff. Two presses clear roughly 60–80 placements an hour together.
Patch style mix
A wall of printed twill prices differently than a wall anchored by chenille heroes and leather accents. Most events blend tiers.
Blank tier
Richardson 112s and totes are the value lane; jackets and mini backpacks push the per-guest spend up — and the keep-rate with it.
Live hours
Staffing bills at $250/hr and includes the unglamorous parts: load-in, wall build, breakdown, and load-out.
Location
OC, LA, and San Diego book without a travel line. Las Vegas adds $900; farther afield is quoted with shipping lead time.
Add-on stations
Pairing the patch wall with live DTF printing or UV DTF drinkware changes footprint and crew — usually cheaper than hiring a second vendor.
Worked example
What a 200-guest patch bar looks like.
Say you are planning a 200-person company summit in Costa Mesa. A sensible build: a 14-design custom patch wall (about 500 patches across the designs, weighted toward your two hero marks), 200 Richardson 112 caps plus a short stack of totes, two staffed presses, and four live hours. Guests average two to three patches each, the line keeps moving, and the leftover patches go home with your people-team for onboarding kits.
That program lands in the station-plus-materials range above — and because it is local, no travel fee. Send us your version of this paragraph and we will price it for real.
